Guide to Downshifting and Sustainable Urban Living

About Us

Mysimplelife.INFO is dedicated to downshifting, sustainable urban living, growing your own food, reusing and recycling, making the most of food in the kitchen, and generally saving money and reducing costs in the home. Articles and tips are based on our personal experiences and our fraustration in trying to find clear non-nonesense advice on the internet or spending a fortune on books! There is no subsititute for experience and 'doing it yourself' is the way forward. New content is added regularly so please visit again soon!

We are Paul and Georgia and we are working towards early retirement from our current 9 to 5 wage slavery after nearly forty years at the grindstone. We live in the very urban south-east of England and enjoy growing, cooking and preserving our own food, making our own gifts and 'doing it ourselves' wherever we can.

Saving money whenever possible is our constant mantra but we are not zealots of the hairshirt and lentil kind! We are rebalancing our lives and focusing on more personal fulfilment and reducing stress. We are committed to maintaining a good standard of living at a reasonable level and sustainable cost to us on a reduced income, but at the same time decreasing our personal demands on the planet and making ethical choices where available.

We hope you find what you seek or at the very least gain motivation to 'do it yourself'. Please contact us if  you find your visit useful or if you have suggestions for new articles, tips or improvements.

Remember, 'Do it Yourself' and keep on thinking 'Green and Free' !

Our 'Shop'

Our Shop  is a link showcase for selected partners offering a wide range of eco-friendly, ethical, alternative and 'green' products that may interest you. We believe in open disclosure. We get paid commission on sales but we do not receive compensation for product recommendations or article content.
